This Bluebeard roast comes to us from the Alto San Ignacio association, who’s story provides a fascinating look at the logistics of coffee production. Located around the small town of Calabozo, getting these coffees out to the world took extensive logistical effort. In order to access higher prices, the coffee has to be transported to Chinchipe Port, then moved to San Ignacio via wooden pulley. This process takes a full day, and led to high costs for the farmers. To solve this problem, farmers in Calabozo consolidated their deliveries under the Alto San Ignacio banner, making transport more affordable and creating better returns for all. Featuring notes of chocolate fudge, honey, cherry, and persimmon, Bluebeards take on this coffee is rich and delicious, and perfect for a wide range of brew methods.
