With satisfying notes like lemon wafer, hazelnut, and chocolate, Honduras Hermanas Alvarado is another quality roast from our friends at Ladro. Starting with high quality beans from the Finca El Colibri farm in Honduras, these beans were grown with care and processed using a fully washed method to bring balance and drinkability to the cup. Managed by Ana Isabel, Iris, and Lourdes Alvarado, the farm gets its name from the Spanish word for hummingbird, which are frequently spotted on the grounds. This coffee also exemplifies the fruits of the COCAFCAL producers co-op, which supports the development of increased standards of production, community service, and quality of life for members in the region. We recommend this coffee for a variety of brew methods, but it may be tricky to dial in for espresso as many single origins tend to be.
