Dogwood Coffee Company: Snow Emergency

A little background on the blend from the Dogwood team...

Our winter seasonal is made up of a Natural Ethiopia and a Washed Colombia. It’s fruit forward, with some melon and chocolate like notes as a backbone. We like to think of our blend as a winter warmer – something you can really cozy up with.

"Holiday Light"-ning Q+A Round answered by Bryant Scannell from Dogwood...

What was your most memorable holiday as a kid? Folks in my family are huge gift givers, so Christmas was always exciting for me as a child. I would always try and catch my parents putting presents under the tree on Christmas Eve. Do you prefer hot chocolate or Egg Nog? Hot chocolate, but I enjoy Egg Nog in small amounts. How do you feel about pumpkin spice? It definitely has its place, but it’s not for me. What is your favorite Christmas movie? National Lampoons Christmas Vacation What are you most excited for this season? My wife and I have 2 dogs and a cat. They love the outdoors, so it will be fun to see them frolic once we get our first heavy snowfall. White lights or colored? White! Gift-wrap or gift bags? If I’m on top of gift buying, I go with gift wrap. If it’s last minute, then definitely a gift bag. Bows or curly ribbon? I’m a bow on presents person. Steady lights or twinkling? Steady! Angel or star tree-topper? We have a tradition of putting a video game action figure on top of our tree every year. Usually Mario, or Yoshi. Real tree or artificial? Real! The smell of pine when you come home during the tree season is fantastic. Long needles or short? Short! Caroling or sleigh riding? Sleigh riding! Presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? One day for each family!

Dogwood's big plans for 2018...

Dogwood is currently in the process of planning a Roaster/Cafe concept that will be really exciting. We are also planning origin trips that will include Africa and our first visit to Peru. There were a lot of great coffees that came to us in 2017 from producers and importers we want to continue growing with, and it will be exciting to see what we can foster in 2018 as we continue to grow in our relationships. The Possibilities are endless!
